Project M - Ferrari 308 GTS Restomod

Project M is a Ferrari restomod: the world's first Ferrari-based restomod, built by Automobili Maggiore on the iconic Ferrari 308 GTS, dressed in a full carbon fiber widebody and tuned for modern performance.

The Story

Born from a passion for cars, design, and automotive legacy, Automobili Maggiore reimagines classic Italian models with a modern touch. The company transforms legendary cars into high-performance machines equipped with state-of-the-art technology, hand-assembled in limited numbers by top Italian technicians and artisans. Project M was created to mark the 40th anniversary of the Magnum P.I. series, where the Ferrari 308 GTS became a pop-culture icon. Every unit is custom-built to order.

Performance

To elevate Project M's aesthetic, Automobili Maggiore collaborated with Amsterdam's Stefan Scholten Design studio on a bespoke red-orange finish with light blue accents named Sunset in Forte dei Marmi, a nod to the classic Ferrari Dino. The body is a redesigned full carbon fiber shell with only the original doors kept in metal for safety. Under it sits a rebuilt 3146cc V8 with forged pistons, a reinforced block, performance camshafts and valves, electronic injection, and a stainless steel exhaust. Output is 310 hp at 7,000 rpm and 350 Nm at 6,500 rpm (80% of torque available from 5,000 rpm), sent through a 5-speed manual with racing clutch and lightweight flywheel. Rebuilt suspension with revised geometry, Koni racing shocks, adjustable springs, custom Brembo brakes, and 17-inch Maggiore three-piece aluminum wheels finish the mechanical package. Inside, Italian leather, carbon fiber, aluminum, and marble mix with exclusive Maharam fabrics and a Sony hi-res stereo.
