Viks Carbon

The Viks Carbon is a handmade carbon fiber edition of the iconic Viks bicycle, built by Estonian maker Velonia in collaboration with Slovenian composites specialist Berk Composites. Weighing just 10.5 kg, it is aimed at riders who want the most refined machine in the Viks lineup.

The Concept

The Viks Carbon was born as a birthday project: for its second anniversary, Viks wanted to reinterpret its signature dual-tube frame in a lighter material without breaking the iconic silhouette. The result is a bike that keeps the flowing, twin-parallel-tube design that made Viks famous, while shifting the frame construction from stainless steel to lightweight carbon fiber. Every unit is made to order, and can be built as a pure fixed gear or configured with disc brakes.

The Build

To translate the Viks shape into carbon, Velonia partnered with Berk Composites, one of Europe's most respected carbon fiber shops. The two structural tubes are formed in carbon, while every joint, dropout, and stress-bearing fitting stays in stainless steel to guarantee lifetime durability. The bike keeps the same visual language as the classic Viks, but the strength-to-weight ratio is significantly improved. Fixed gear is standard, disc brakes are an option, and the setup can be tuned to the rider on request.

The Ride

On the road, the low weight (10.5 kg) transforms acceleration and hill work. The Encore 5-spoke wheels stay stiff under hard efforts and can be converted to a disc-brake setup by swapping hubs. Fast-rolling Schwalbe Kojak 35x622 tires give the bike a slick, quiet urban character, and a Gates Carbon Drive belt replaces the chain for silent, low-maintenance power delivery. Every touchpoint is handpicked: BLB Track crankset, BLB Groove seatpost, Brooks England Cambium C13 saddle.
