Azimut S7 Yacht

Azimut S7 Yacht - TheArsenale

The Azimut S7 is a 70-foot sport yacht from Azimut Yachts that debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2017, combining carbon fiber construction, a triple Volvo IPS propulsion system and a full-beam master suite designed by Stefano Righini and Francesco Guida.

Design: Stefano Righini exterior, Francesco Guida interior

The S7 is styled by Stefano Righini, whose exterior brings a distinctive diamond-patterned window line along the flanks and a silhouette that reads as athletic from any angle. Francesco Guida handled the interior, working with a palette of glossy black flamed oak and tay wood. The result is an interior described by the brand as virile: a high-contrast, materials-led environment that differentiates the S7 from the more classically warm interiors typical of Italian production yachts. Two colorway options were offered at launch, including a warmer alternative for those who prefer a less technical aesthetic.

Construction: carbon fiber for performance and volume

The superstructure, radar arch and pivoting platform of the Azimut S7 are built from carbon fiber. Using carbon in these areas reduces topside weight, lowers the center of gravity and allows Azimut to increase interior volume without compromising handling. The effect is measurable: the S7 achieves a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 31 knots with strong handling composure, figures confirmed in sea trials where the hull reached 35.1 knots at wide-open throttle with interior noise levels of just 69 decibels.

Propulsion and control systems

The S7 is powered by a triple Volvo IPS propulsion system, with each unit fitted with an 800 hp engine for a combined output of 2,400 hp. Fuel distribution across tanks is managed automatically by the Advanced Cruising Solutions program to keep the vessel trimmed and balanced at speed. The joystick-style helm controls make docking and maneuvering at low speed genuinely easy to manage even without assistance, a practical advantage on a 70-foot vessel.

Owner's suite and living spaces

At the heart of the Azimut S7 is the owner's suite, a full-beam arrangement measuring 19 square meters and divided into four distinct functional areas. Below deck, three additional cabins provide guest accommodation. The main deck galley is positioned at the bow to maximize usable saloon space. Two lounging areas sit inside and outside: the interior saloon features twin coffee tables that convert into a single dining table for eight, alongside a TV stand. The exterior bar counter opens for open-water entertaining. The S7 holds CE A and NMMA certification for vessels under 24 meters, underscoring its build standards.

A benchmark for Italian sport yachts

The S7 occupies the slot between the Azimut 55S and 77S in the brand's lineup and brings carbon fiber construction and triple IPS propulsion to a size class where those features were previously uncommon.
