What the Rugged Kit Actually Does to a Zero FXS
e-Racer builds on the Zero FXS's Z-Force motor and 7.2 kWh battery pack, which deliver 48 horsepower, 76 lb-ft of instant torque, a top speed of 85 mph, and a range of approximately 100 miles. The Rugged conversion adds a new aluminium frame, 360-degree LED lighting, and a regressive air suspension. Nearly every visible surface is coated with Line-X elastomeric spray, a ballistic-grade protective material used in military and industrial applications that ensures critical components can absorb years of hard use without degrading. The Showa front fork is wrapped in ballistic tape. A 3D-printed nylon and Alcantara seat unit lifts to access the charging port. The auxiliary aluminium frame incorporates five mounting rings, so the motorcycle can be hoisted cleanly onto a pickup, onto a boat, or recovered from a cliff face without a purpose-built bracket.
