ELEGANCE AT SEA: AZIMUT’S 38M GRANDE TRIDECK AND ITS CUTTING-EDGE INTERIORS

Azimut’s 38m Grande Trideck is a revelation in superyacht design, offering a refreshing departure from the indulgent, overdone interiors that dominate the nautical luxury scene. Designed by the Milanese studio m2atelier, the Grande Trideck is a study in contemporary sophistication, seamlessly blending functionality, elegance, and innovation. Its main salon exudes the ambiance of a modern townhouse or a countryside retreat, characterized by masterful joinery and a pared-back, neutral color palette that leans toward understated beige tones. The centerpiece of the main salon—the Unveiling Wall, a sleek system of vertical slats that conceals the yacht’s audio-visual system—epitomizes the thoughtful marriage of aesthetic appeal and practical convenience, keeping the focus on the breathtaking ocean vistas.

The yacht is replete with design details that prioritize spatial dynamics and versatility. Invisible doors allow spaces to transform effortlessly between open layouts and private compartments, while hidden lighting elements heighten the interior’s architectural finesse. The owner’s accommodation echoes the same ethos, featuring custom furniture like a chaise longue positioned beside panoramic windows. Outdoor spaces are equally transformative, offering a Sky Lounge that toggles between shaded relaxation and a dining area, alongside a private patio, a beach club, and a foredeck with a serene recessed pool. These functional outdoor elements extend the living spaces, providing a sensory balance of luxury and nature—true hallmarks of m2atelier's concept of "barefoot luxury."

Light takes center stage on the Grande Trideck, with expansive windows on the upper decks allowing natural light to flood the interiors and highlighting the textures of materials. According to Marco Bonelli, co-founder of m2atelier, light is the “silent force” that not only enhances spatial perception but also adds emotional depth to the overall experience. This attention to detail is emblematic of the studio’s cross-disciplinary expertise in residential, aviation, and nautical design. As the first of three Azimut yachts to feature interiors by m2atelier, the Grande Trideck heralds a bold new chapter for the Azimut/Benetti Group, setting a benchmark for innovation, elegance, and contemporary yacht design.
