Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept
The Infiniti Q Inspiration Concept was unveiled at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit as a clear signal of where Nissan's luxury division intends to take its next generation of sedans. The VC-Turbo Powertrain
The Q Inspiration is powered by Infiniti's VC-Turbo engine, the world's first production-ready variable compression ratio engine. The VC-Turbo continuously adjusts its compression ratio between 8:1 for maximum power and 14:1 for fuel efficiency, shifting dynamically depending on driving conditions. This technology allows a single engine to behave like a high-performance petrol unit under hard acceleration and a fuel-efficient unit during relaxed cruising, without any manual intervention from the driver. The engine's compact dimensions directly enable the long-cabin, short-bonnet proportions that define the Q Inspiration's visual identity.
Interior and Autonomous Technology
Inside, the Q Inspiration seats four passengers, each provided with their own floating touchscreen infotainment display. The individual screens allow different content to run simultaneously without distracting other occupants, a feature borrowed from private aviation cabin design. Infiniti's ProPILOT autonomous driver assistance suite is embedded in the concept's architecture, offering a preview of how the brand intends to integrate semi-autonomous capability into its next production models.
