JAW-DROPPING ONE-OFF 812 COMPETIZIONE TAILOR MADE
Ferrari unveiled a breathtaking one-off version of the Ferrari 812 Competizione Tailor Made at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, a matte Giallo Trisato yellow car covered in intricate design sketches hand-rendered over every exterior surface. The car was subsequently auctioned at the Ferrari Gala in New York on October 17, with all proceeds donated to charity, where it sold for $5.1 million.
The Design Concept
The unique exterior treatment was conceived to bring the very first stage of the automotive design process to life on a production body. The golden hue of the matte paint represents the yellow cardboard on which Ferrari's design director Flavio Manzoni drew the initial sketches for the 812 Competizione. The black outlines and notations printed across the bodywork replicate the marks and construction lines he made during those early development drawings. The effect is a moving canvas: a finished hypercar that still shows the hand of the designer. Interior details continue the theme, with embroidered design sketches stitched into the yellow seats and door sills.

Performance of the Ferrari 812 Competizione
Beneath the art-car bodywork sits the Ferrari 812 Competizione's 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, producing 819 hp and 510 lb ft of torque, with a 9,500 rpm redline that is exceptional for a road car. The 812 Competizione accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 340 km/h (211 mph). Aerodynamic enhancements over the standard 812 Superfast include an active rear spoiler, front splitter, and revised rear diffuser. The standard MSRP for the 812 Competizione is $598,513, placing it above rivals such as the Lamborghini Huracan STO in terms of power, exclusivity, and price.

Ferrari's Tailor Made Programme
The Tailor Made programme allows Ferrari clients to commission one-off or limited-series customisations with factory involvement, covering paint, trim, materials, and bespoke graphic treatments. This 812 Competizione represents the programme at its most expressive: a collaboration between the client, Ferrari North America, and the Ferrari design team that resulted in a genuinely unique object. The car is not simply a repaint; it is a co-creation between the automaker and the commissioner. Read the full story at Top Gear and Robb Report.
