MEET "INSKY BIKE" - THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORT

MEET "INSKY BIKE" - THE FUTURE OF TRANSPORT - TheArsenale

The InSky Bike is a propeller-powered personal VTOL aircraft from InSky Aerospace that the pilot straddles like a sportbike, making it one of the most distinctive flying motorbike concepts in the emerging personal air mobility sector. With AI-assisted stabilization and a hybrid-electric powertrain, the InSky Bike is designed to put flight within reach of everyday riders, no pilot's license required.

What Is the InSky Bike?

Built by InSky Aerospace, the InSky Bike is a VTOL (vertical take-off and landing) aircraft that combines the riding position of a sportbike with ducted-fan propulsion technology. Unlike conventional eVTOL air taxis that seat passengers in a cabin, the InSky Bike places the pilot directly on top of the aircraft, creating an immersive and visceral flying experience closer to a motorcycle than an airplane.

The vehicle is fully stabilized by onboard computer systems, which means the pilot needs only a modest amount of training to take to the skies. No traditional pilot's license is required for operation.

InSky Bike Performance and Specifications

The InSky Bike runs on a hybrid-electric powertrain, providing a flight time of more than 30 minutes per charge. Its top speed is governed to 60 MPH, and the aircraft can carry payloads of up to 250 lbs. The ducted fan design generates up to twice the thrust for the same power compared to open propellers, while also reducing noise by up to 10 times, a meaningful advantage for urban personal air mobility.

Safety Technology: AI Collision Avoidance and Automated Landing

Safety is a core pillar of the InSky Bike design. The aircraft is equipped with a fully redundant flight control system and a 4x redundant sensor array. Its AI-enabled Collision Detection and Avoidance System identifies obstacles in the flight path and reacts automatically. A Landing Pad Selection Augmentation System helps the pilot identify suitable landing zones. In an emergency, the aircraft is capable of automated landing if the pilot becomes inactive, a critical feature for a vehicle operating without a traditional pilot certification requirement.

Together these systems represent a meaningful step toward making personal air travel safe enough for everyday use, similar to the approach taken by other eVTOL pioneers entering the personal aviation market.
