Munro Vehicles, an EV startup, is preparing for the release of its first product: the MK_1 SUV. The company has been developing the vehicle for over four years and touts it as the world's most capable 4x4.
The MK_1 is powered by a 376-horsepower electric motor with 516 lb-ft of torque, backed by an 80-kWh battery. This combination allows for a range of 170 miles and a 15-80% recharge time of 36 minutes, with a total recharge time of three hours.
Munro claims that the MK_1 has a payload of 2,200 pounds and a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds. The SUV has a utilitarian body style and can seat five people, with room for gear.
With a £60k price tag Munro plans to build 50 MK_1s in 2023, with production expected to increase to 250 per year at their plant in Scotland.
