SMALL IS THE NEW BOLD - INSIDE RENAULT X THEARSENALE’S TWINGOMANIA

Twingomania begins as the latest chapter in Renault’s creative collaboration with TheArsenale—an exhibition conceived to celebrate the imminent arrival of the reborn, all-electric Renault Twingo E-Tech. Revealed at the 2026 Brussels Motor Show, the project follows the same curatorial momentum as the earlier 4 Movements display that accompanied the Renault 4 E-Tech at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Here, the Twingo is less a single product than a prompt: a familiar, friendly silhouette used to spark a wider conversation about what compact mobility can be. In that sense, Twingomania is both tribute and launchpad—an “extended universe” built around the next iteration of a pint-sized city icon.

Culturally, Twingomania is framed as a “cultural activation rooted in mobility, design, and European creative culture,” and it wears that ambition in the details. Each participating object is tuned to the Twingo E-Tech’s visual identity—anchored by Twingo green and reinforced through patterns and graphics that make the collection feel cohesive rather than simply co-branded. The effect is to treat everyday movement—commuting, carrying, cruising—as a design-led practice with room for personality and wit. Importantly, the show positions compactness not as compromise, but as a contemporary ideal: approachable, urban-native, and engineered for real-life constraints.

That mindset carries into the exhibition’s contemporary influence: Twingomania spotlights six European companies working “outside the norm,” each contributing a distinct, scaled-down mobility idea. The line-up spans streets and sea alike—Twingo Elwing (electric skateboard, with Bordeaux-based Elwing), Twingo Pamela (BMW-style electric cargo bike from Pamela Bikes), Twingo Vässla (Swedish urban e-scooter featuring the Twingo’s signature arched headlight, with Vässla’s industrial design developed alongside Teenage Engineering), Twingo Vega (a pared-back lightweight electric motorcycle from Moto Vega with a 7kWh battery and an 86-mile urban range), plus Twingo Kahe (Kahe Nautic’s modular electric water propulsion pod, up to 10km/h) and Twingo Mo-jet (Mo-jet’s modular electric surfboard that can also tow a water-skier). Crucially, the exhibition doesn’t end at the show floor: the full set of mobility products is available to buy via The Originals, Renault’s online store for accessories, fashion, and merchandise—turning a design narrative into an accessible, ownable ecosystem.
