THE HELMET: AFGHANISTAN'S BLACK SWAN SUPERCAR PROTOTYPE

THE HELMET: AFGHANISTAN'S BLACK SWAN SUPERCAR PROTOTYPE - TheArsenale

The Mada 9 price is one of the most searched questions about Afghanistan's first supercar, and the honest answer is that the Helmet, also called the Black Swan, remains a one-off prototype with no public retail price. Built by Entop Auto Design Company over more than five years in Kabul, this hand-made mid-engine machine was created to prove a point rather than to fill a showroom, which is exactly why curiosity around its value runs so high.

What is the Mada 9, Afghanistan's Black Swan supercar?

Originally badged the Mada 9, this exotic automobile was first unveiled to the public at Kabul University in the closing months of 2022. It was met with admiration from car enthusiasts and the general public alike, all eager to catch a glimpse of a rare and unexpected creation. According to Wikipedia's entry on the Helmet supercar, the project carries deep symbolism: founder Mohammad Raza Ahmadi nicknamed it the Black Swan after the surprise European sailors felt on first sighting black swans, a way of saying Afghanistan can still surprise the world.

What engine powers the Mada 9 supercar?

The Mada 9 is currently fitted with a 1.8 L 1ZZ-FE modified Toyota four-cylinder engine, mounted transversely behind the cockpit in a full tube-frame chassis with pushrod suspension and a composite body. As CarsGuide reports, the modest output (around 103 kW) matters less than the architecture: the chassis was designed to accept hybrid or fully electric power later. The vehicle's designers have voiced hopes of showing it at the Geneva International Motor Show, where it could showcase its story to a global audience.

Who built Afghanistan's first supercar?

The creation of this machine is the result of the efforts of Mohammad Raza Ahmadi and his team of engineers working alongside the Afghanistan Technical Vocational Institute (ATVI). Their dedication to automotive engineering culminated in the Helmet, a feat that leaves a lasting legacy in the Afghan automotive industry and reframes what a homegrown supercar can mean far beyond established markets.

How much does the Mada 9 cost, and where can you buy a supercar?

Because the Mada 9 is a single prototype rather than a production model, there is no official Mada 9 price in USD, and the car is not for sale. Collectors drawn to rare and coachbuilt supercars usually turn to limited-run machines that can actually be acquired. TheArsenale curates exactly that kind of selection in its cars collection, including the Devel Sixteen, a 5007 hp V16 quad-turbo hypercar, the Italian Frangivento Asfane Diecidieci hypercar, the F1-inspired Delage D12, and the coachbuilt Ferrari 296 Corsso by Venuum.
