After the infamous Porsche 911 GT3 RS model, the Technic range of LEGO has gotten a huge upgrade with the new Bugatti Chiron. The 1:8 scale model measures 56 cm long and has 3,599 pieces. To create this model, designers worked hand-in-hand with Bugatti's engineers in the factory.
One of the most impressive feats of this model is the fact that the W16 engine features moving pistons and an 8 speed gearbox. These are all moving, functioning parts. Other details in the interior like the moving paddle gear shifters, a Bugatti overnight bag under the hood and an active rear wing.
If you have a real Chiron, chances are you know about the "speed key". This special key is used to unlock the car's full potential; unleashing all of its 1,500 horses fed by quad-turbos to reach a top speed of 420 km/h. In this case, you also get a "speed key" but instead of unleashing the power, you are able to control the active spoiler in the back; raising it up and down as you wish.
Priced at $349, it's a notch more expensive than a typical LEGO kit and is aimed at bigger kids. Much bigger kids, kids with driving licenses and dreams. Are you getting your LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron kit or letting it pass?
