Unveiled in the Paris Air Show last year, Workhorse's Surefly has now taken manned flight for the first time. Being one among many of their vehicles under development, Surefly aims to make passenger drones part of everyday commuting.

After winning their Experimental Airworthness Certificate, they proceeded to make test flights in the US and was expected to carry out a test flight at CES which was interrupted due to a drizzle that could fiddle with the Surefly's electronics. By using a diesel and electricity mix, the Surefly is able to carry up to 180 kg for a range of 112 km. While the test flight was just a foot over the surface, it's highly successful as a first manned flight and will serve as ground for further improvement.
