The Monday Motorbikes Piezo is a high-performance electric moped built for urban commuting, combining a 2,000W rear hub motor, a 72V battery system, and motorcycle-grade components in a package that reaches 40 mph while running at under 70 dB.

The Concept

Monday Motorbikes set out to build the electric equivalent of a classic moped: something fast enough to handle real traffic, quiet enough to belong in a city, and refined enough to warrant the ride. The Piezo is the result. It draws on motorcycle engineering traditions — hydraulic brakes, proper suspension travel, a structured aluminum frame — and applies them to an electric platform that needs no fuel stops, no gear changes, and no warm-up. The cafe racer-inspired silhouette and memory foam vinyl seat bring a design sensibility that most electric mopeds ignore entirely.

The Build

The frame is a dual-arch structure in T6 aircraft-grade aluminium, chosen for the balance between low weight and structural rigidity under the 72V battery and motor loads. Front suspension offers 150mm of motorcycle-grade travel. The rear uses an adjustable monoshock that riders can tune to their preference. Braking is handled by dual-piston hydraulic motorcycle brakes with 220mm rotors and DOT-approved hardware on both ends. A 5-inch high-visibility colour LED display provides real-time feedback. Monday's custom Bluetooth app adds remote on/off control and a state-of-charge indicator, so the bike can be managed before the rider even reaches it.

The Ride

The 2,000W rear hub motor delivers torque immediately from standstill. Mode 3 unlocks a 40 mph top speed. The 72V system is available in 33Ah or 40Ah battery configurations, with the larger pack extending range to 80 miles on a charge. Charging uses standard 115V outlets at 50 or 60Hz, making it compatible with virtually any domestic socket. A DOT-approved headlight with daytime running light, low beam, and high beam ensures the Piezo is fully road-legal and visible across all light conditions. Colours are Electric Blue and Midnight Black.
