The Pave 1 electric scooter is a retro-futuristic, street-legal electric moped from Pave Motors, engineered around a blockchain-based ownership platform and offered in 2000 W or 3000 W configurations.
The Concept
Pave Motors set out to break the mould of the traditional electric scooter industry. Every curve of the Pave 1 was designed to give it a distinctive retro-futuristic silhouette, and each component was engineered from scratch to balance weight, style and performance. The Pave 1 is also the first of its class to leverage a blockchain-based platform: riders can share, interact and transact with other members of the Pave network through the Pave+ app, with an Ownership NFT acting as a keyless access token.
The Ride
Power is delivered by a motor available in 2000 W or 3000 W configurations, pushing the Pave 1 past 30 mph with 50 miles of range from a 1.9 kWh 21700 lithium-ion pack. Fast charging brings the battery to 80% in 90 minutes. Access can be granted through the Pave+ app or an NFC card, and LTE, Bluetooth and GPS tracking keep the bike connected and secure with real-time alerts. The Pave 1 is fully street legal as a 50 cc equivalent (Motor-driven cycle in the US, L1e-B in the EU), so a car, M1 or M2 licence (US) or AM/B licence (EU) is enough to ride it.
