The Acura Performance EV Concept made its grand debut recently during the prestigious Monterey Car Week, signaling a pivotal moment in Acura's electrification strategy. Designed by the Acura Design Studio in Los Angeles, this dramatically styled SUV concept offers a preview of the brand's future all-electric model lineup. Set to go into production in 2025, this concept car is not only the first model engineered on a newly developed Honda EV platform but will also be the first to be produced at the cutting-edge Honda EV Hub in Ohio. This milestone marks Acura’s ambitious entry into the rapidly evolving electric vehicle market, emphasizing performance alongside electrification.
In terms of design, the Acura Performance EV Concept stands out with its bold and alluring aesthetics. It features a vented hood stretching forward from the A-pillars, alongside prominent side vents that are deeply carved into its sculpted surfaces. The front fascia draws inspiration from high-tech hydrofoil superyachts, while the coupe-like silhouette, finished in a captivating "Moonlit White Pearl" paint, boasts a semi-matte finish. The rear showcases an upswept decklid, a striking full-width taillight, and an imposing diffuser, paying homage to the iconic second-generation NSX. These elements, coupled with a unique new font displaying "ACURA" across the tailgate, establish a fresh identity for Acura's modern electrified vehicles.
Performance and athletic stance define the physical presence of the Acura Performance EV Concept. It boasts an elongated wheelbase with short overhangs and muscular wheel arches covering massive 23-inch wheels fitted with 295/35R23 performance tires. The concept vehicle features high-performance brakes with Moonlit White paint-matched four-piston calipers highlighted by striking neon green Acura scripting—a nod to the Acura Electric Vision Design Study from Monterey Car Week 2023. As Acura pioneers this new performance paradigm, they continue to leverage innovative design and advanced engineering in cementing their position as a leading force in the realm of electrified luxury SUVs.
