The RAESR Tachyon Speed is a street-legal prototype electric hypercar developed in Southern California by RAESR Automotive, engineered around a next-generation electric powertrain that pushes 1,250+ hp and 1.4 megawatts of peak power.
The Story
Founded by Eric Rice in 2014, RAESR (Rice Advanced Engineering Systems and Research, pronounced racer) is a high-end automotive design and technology startup that hand-builds a limited number of electric and hybrid-electric hypercars. Its research into high-performance electric powertrains and energy storage culminates in the Tachyon Speed. Work on the car began in 2012, with a small elite team of engineers, designers, and craftsmen setting out to build a next-generation electric hypercar with a driving experience unmatched in either electric or combustion formats. Limited reservations are underway.
Performance
The Tachyon Speed makes 1,250+ hp and 3,650 lb-ft of torque, with a peak power output of 1.4 megawatts. The full carbon fiber body keeps curb weight down to 2,950 lbs, and the electric powertrain delivers a city range above 150 miles. The result is a low-volume electric hypercar built for both road and track, developed by a small team obsessed with extreme electric performance.
