AERFAL AUTOMOTIVE BREATHES LIFE INTO THE PORSCHE 904 WITH THE Æ94 RESTOMOD

AERFAL AUTOMOTIVE BREATHES LIFE INTO THE PORSCHE 904 WITH THE Æ94 RESTOMOD

Aerfal Automotive is turning heads in the high-end restomod world by reviving one of Porsche's rarest icons: the 904. Rather than chasing the saturated market of Porsche 911 restomods, the company chose the niche mid-engined 904 Carrera GTS as the basis for the Æ94, a modern reinterpretation that blends 1960s racing spirit with a bespoke 400 horsepower flat-eight engine, daily drivability, and serious luxury. Limited to just 94 cars, it is one of the boldest tributes the restomod scene has produced.

What is the Aerfal Automotive Æ94?

The Æ94 is a faithful homage to the Porsche 904, one of the brand's most coveted homologation specials, of which only 106 originals were ever made. Instead of using an exceedingly rare and costly original 904 chassis, Aerfal builds the Æ94 on the more accessible underpinnings of the Porsche 914, keeping the project financially sustainable while respecting the original's rarity. Founder Daniel Robledo, inspired by icons like the Singer DLS project, wants Aerfal Automotive to be known for analog-focused, durable machines that blend heritage with modernity. Full details live on the official Aerfal Automotive site.

What engine does the Æ94 use?

The Æ94 is a technical masterpiece, not just a styling exercise. At its heart sits a modernized air-cooled flat-eight, a nod to the 904 Spyder race cars that used eight-cylinder powerplants. Reports indicate the naturally aspirated unit is bored out from 2.0 to 4.0 liters, targeting up to 400 horsepower, nearly double the output of the original 904/8. Aerfal pairs it with components from industry heavyweights, including BBS wheels, Brembo brakes, and Bilstein suspension, while Porsche rally expert Richard Tuthill helps hone the driving feel for a truly analog yet refined experience. The technical breakdown was covered in depth by Auto Express.

What is the Æ94 interior like?

The cabin embodies vintage opulence with vegetable-tanned leather, titanium detailing, bespoke Momo steering wheels, and instrument dials developed in collaboration with a prestigious watchmaker that correspond to a matching chronograph. Every surface is designed to deliver a luxurious, sensory-rich experience that matches the car's analog driving character. Production is capped at 94 examples, with a starting price reported around 3 million euros (about 3.5 million USD), positioning the Æ94 firmly among the most exclusive restomods in the world.
