DeLoreanss are a bit hard to find as they were made between 1981-1983 and then abandoned as a project. Now imagine, how hard would it be to find a DMC that floats on water?
This unique project was built by Matt Riese who said that the built of this hovercraft was not easy at all especially at the part of refining the tint of the silver metallic paint and hand-painted for matching the real DeLorean. He started this project in 2008 and it took him 4 years to complete it in 2012. Power comes from a 23-horsepower Briggs & Stratton Vanguard and a B&S 875 Professional Series push mower engine for the 24-inch lift fan.
As a result, the DeLorean hovercraft can go through basically anything that's flat water, asphalt, ice, snow, and sand. The builder says that he has spent the last few months improving the hovercraft making sure to be in good shape by changing and replacing many components like thrust engine components, fuel pump fuel lines, fuel filter, and more. After this one, Riese has decided to put the hovercraft for sale on eBay with a price of $45.000 with promising to donate the 10% of the sale price to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinsons Research. To no surprise, it was sold within hours of its announcement.
