Deus Ex Machina is one of the most recognized name in the custom motorcycle scene and they have often come up with show-stopping custom builds and the Beastie is no exception.
Much to the suggestion of its name, the Beastie is a custom Ducati Hypermotard SP. But, very little of the original bike remains here. The US Design Director for Deus, Michael Woolaway competed in the Pikes Peak Hillclimb in 2018 with this exact same bike. This year, he came back with a bike that reflected all his riding experience on the twisty climb. The only thing that was kept from the original bike is the front wheel, its numberplate and electronics. A Street Fighter frame is now used instead of the original one, connected to a magnesium swingarm. A new aluminum tank was shaped after Marc Marquez's Honda race bike. Multiple other parts have been sourced from a Ducati World Superbike. Mark Sutton tuned the engine to a mindblowing 180 hp at only 340 lbs under full load.
While this bike won't make it to anyone's hands, it sure is interesting to see what a custom motorcycle atelier can create when it mixes tested performance upgrades with custom designed parts.
