The Ducati Monster S4R is one of the most iconic naked bikes ever built, yet it rarely appears in the custom world. Dutch shop Moto Adonis changed that with the DUC92, a one-off cage fighter build that transforms the Monster's familiar silhouette into something far more extreme.
Why the Ducati Monster S4R Is a Challenging Custom Base
The Monster's signature trellis frame and angular bodywork are instantly recognisable, which is exactly what makes customising one so difficult. Any modification risks clashing with the original aesthetic or looking half-finished. Moto Adonis founder Daan Borsje embraced that challenge by reimagining the bike from scratch rather than simply swapping parts, as documented by Bike EXIF.
The DUC92 Build: What Moto Adonis Changed
The centrepiece of the DUC92 is a custom monocoque section that flows continuously from the fuel tank through the side panels and into the tail unit. The shape draws from the form of a whale, giving the bike an organic quality that contrasts sharply with the aggression of the cage fighter stance.
Up front, the stock forks have been replaced with a flatter unit housing a headlight with a girder-like structural frame. The wheels are Kineo rims, laced to the hubs and finished to match the overall monochrome palette. Paintwork uses Audi's Nardo Grey, one of the most respected neutral tones in automotive design, as covered by HiConsumption.
Performance: A New Heart Under the Skin
Moto Adonis did not stop at aesthetics. The original engine was replaced with a 996-sourced Ducati Desmodromic unit producing 113 hp. That motor feeds into a two-into-one-into-two exhaust system capped with MAD Exhausts muffler tips, giving the DUC92 a sound as aggressive as its looks.
Suspension duties fall to an adjustable Wilbers mono-shock at the rear, allowing the ride character to be tuned for both track use and road riding. Instrumentation is handled by a Motoscope Pro cluster from Motogadget, keeping the cockpit clean and purposeful.
Custom Motorcycles in the Ducati Tradition
The DUC92 sits within a long line of bespoke Ducati builds that elevate the brand beyond its factory output. TheArsenale carries several custom Ducati motorcycles that follow the same philosophy, including the Ducati 848 Evo Racer by NCT Motorcycles, the Ducati 860 GT Turbo by Hazan Motorworks, and the Ducati Pandora by Young Guns Speed Shop.
