The Ford SuperVan 4.2 price is not a figure you will find on a window sticker: it is a one-off, 1,400 horsepower electric prototype built by Ford Performance and STARD, never sold to the public. Based on the E-Transit Custom but transformed beyond recognition, the SuperVan 4.2 was created for one mission, to attack the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, and it did exactly that.

What is the Ford SuperVan 4.2?
The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has a rich history of unleashing some of the most extraordinary racecars ever conceived, consistently showcasing machines that push the boundaries of speed and innovation. Ford added to that legacy with the E-Transit SuperVan 4.2. Equipped with three electric motors, this extensively modified E-Transit generates an astonishing 1,400 horsepower delivered to all four wheels. The original van has been transformed beyond recognition, with only a few remnants of its familiar bodywork left beneath the spoilers and aero. As Motor Authority detailed, engineers cut around 400 kg from the previous SuperVan 4.0 to sharpen it for the mountain.

How did the SuperVan 4.2 do at Pikes Peak?
Romain Dumas, an experienced participant and multiple overall Pikes Peak winner, drove the formidable Ford SuperVan 4.2 at the 101st running of the event in 2023. He brought a wealth of expertise to the climb and it showed: the SuperVan completed the course in 8 minutes 47.682 seconds, smashing the previous class record of 9 minutes 24.433 seconds set in 2019. According to Ford, the van was engineered to generate over 4,400 pounds of downforce at 150 mph.

Why the SuperVan 4.2 matters
The SuperVan 4.2 is a rolling statement that electric powertrains belong at the sharp end of motorsport. Its blend of huge instant torque, all-wheel drive and aggressive aerodynamics turned a humble delivery van into a record-breaking hill climb weapon, proof of how far EV performance has come.
