A small company in the French Alps has injected a childlike dose of fun into the serious business of electric cars with "Le Tube." This vehicle has a look that resembles a 1930s hot rod or a 1950s Formula 1 car and is mainly composed of an aluminum tube that serves as the body. The people behind the small French company, KG Auto, came up with this idea. KG stands for kilogram, as the company's philosophy is: light is right. This single-seater toy car weighs only 258 kilograms.
Two battery options are available, one offering up to 45 minutes of driving, and the other up to 2 hours. The driving range is not announced in kilometers because Le Tube is not approved for road use. It is truly a toy to be enjoyed exclusively on the track. It has an electric motor for each rear wheel, producing a total of 43 horsepower.
Le Tube is a childlike and fun electric vehicle. Its body is mainly composed of an aluminum tube and weighs only 258 kilograms, making it a lightweight and agile car. Although it has a low horsepower of 43, it is still considered a fun car, mainly because it is not approved for road use and can only be enjoyed on the track. The price ranges from €20,000 to €30,740, excluding taxes, which may seem expensive, but it's worth it for the fun and enjoyment it brings.
