Lexus has partnered with Dutch solar designer Marjan van Aubel to present an inspiring and forward-thinking installation titled "8 Minutes and 20 Seconds" at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami (ICA Miami). Named after the time it takes for sunlight to journey to Earth, this interactive piece marvels the senses with its stunning use of color and light through Organic Photovoltaics (OPV), offering a true-to-size representation of the Lexus Future Zero-emission Catalyst (LF-ZC) concept car. This significant piece marks van Aubel's first public project in Miami and is brought to life with the help of the spatial and experience design firm, Random Studio.
The dynamic nature of "8 Minutes and 20 Seconds" allows the audience to interact with the installation in a new and unique way. As viewers move around, they bring the piece to life; motion sensors trigger a play of lights that ripple across the installation, mirroring the lively energy of a car in motion.
