LILIUM JET IS THE FIRST EVTOL UP FOR PRIVATE SALE
The Lilium Jet became the first electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) ever offered for private sale in the United States, through a pioneering partnership with Texas-based brokerage EMCJET. The all-electric jet, designed to carry up to six passengers and a pilot with zero operating emissions, opened a new chapter for private aviation by letting individuals reserve early Pioneer Edition aircraft for the first time.
What is the Lilium Jet?
The Lilium Jet is an all-electric eVTOL designed for regional air mobility, combining leading capacity, low noise and high performance with zero operating emissions. The production design accommodated six passengers and one pilot, driven by 36 ducted electric motors distributed across its canards and wings. According to Lilium, the EMCJET agreement marked the first time any eVTOL aircraft would be available for private purchase in the U.S., the largest private aviation market in the world.
Lilium Jet range, capacity and price
The seven-seat Lilium Jet was engineered for a range of more than 250 km (155+ miles), with a maximum take-off weight of around 3,175 kg (7,000 lb). When it became the first eVTOL for sale to private individuals, the Lilium Jet price started at roughly 10 million dollars, positioning it firmly at the top of the emerging electric aviation market. EMCJET committed to five production slots and became the exclusive Lilium dealer in Texas through 2030, with initial sales focused on Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. Why the Lilium private sale mattered
The EMCJET tie-up was Lilium's fourth dealer partnership globally and captured a wider movement among aircraft management companies to help decarbonise general aviation. By offering an elevated yet highly efficient flying experience, Lilium and EMCJET aimed to push the boundaries of private aviation and bring eVTOL technology to the U.S. market, a significant step toward a quieter, cleaner future for regional flight.
