The Automobili Pininfarina B95 is the world's first all-electric, open-top hyper Barchetta, a car that translates the oldest Italian coachbuilding tradition into a 1,874-horsepower electric statement. Built on the same Rimac-engineered carbon fibre monocoque as the closed-roof Battista, the B95 removes the roof entirely, adds electronically adjustable aero screens for occupant protection, and dresses the result in Bronzo Superga paint with yellow accents, making it arguably the most visually dramatic electric hypercar yet conceived.
Performance: 0-60 in Under Two Seconds
The B95 uses a 120 kWh liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery to feed four permanent magnet synchronous motors, one at each wheel, enabling full torque vectoring for immediate, precise power delivery at every corner. The combined output of 1,874 hp sends the B95 from rest to 62 mph in fewer than two seconds, and on to a top speed exceeding 186 mph. DC fast charging at up to 270 kW takes the battery from 20% to 80% charge in a claimed 25 minutes, a significant practical achievement for a vehicle in this category. The battery sits in a T-shaped carbon fibre housing, keeping weight centralised and the centre of gravity low.
Design: The B95 Barchetta Body
The Barchetta body style, literally "little boat" in Italian, is defined by its open-top silhouette, full-width enveloping bodywork, and the absence of a fixed roof structure. On the B95, a bold swage line runs the full length of the car, creating muscular visual mass while providing structural rigidity. The wide enveloping body gives unrestricted access to the two-seat cabin, which features matte black wheels, brushed aluminium details, and black middle sections contrasting the Bronzo Superga exterior. The electronically adjustable aero screens replace a traditional windscreen, rising at speed to deflect air over the occupants while maintaining the open-air Barchetta character at lower speeds.
PURA Vision Design Language
The B95 draws its proportions directly from the PURA Vision concept vehicle that Automobili Pininfarina revealed as the preview of its design direction. The production car translates those concept proportions into a road-registered machine without compromise: the same broad stance, the same assertive front fascia, the same driver-centric cockpit orientation. It represents Automobili Pininfarina's vision for what Barchetta means in the 21st century, not a heritage revival but a forward projection of open-top performance with zero direct emissions.
Exclusivity: 10 Examples at 4.4 Million Euros
Just 10 B95 units will be built, each priced from 4.4 million euros. Customer deliveries are scheduled to align with Automobili Pininfarina's 95th anniversary, making the B95 both a technical landmark and a commemorative collector's piece. The coachbuilt approach, where each example is individually specified and hand-assembled, positions the B95 alongside the great limited-edition Italian open-top specials of the past, but powered entirely by electricity.
