Tesla Roadster Safari

Tesla Roadster Safari - TheArsenale

The Tesla Roadster Safari is a conceptual 3D render by BradBuilds that reimagines the upcoming Tesla Roadster as an all-terrain electric rally machine, complete with solar panels on the hood and roof, lifted suspension, all-terrain tires and a roof rack carrying jerry cans repurposed for water storage rather than fuel.

Who Is BradBuilds and What Is the Tesla Safari Concept?

BradBuilds is a digital design studio known for automotive 3D renders that push familiar vehicles into unexpected territory. During the global lockdown of early 2020, the studio channelled collective cabin fever into one of its most ambitious concepts: a Tesla Roadster transformed into an apocalypse-ready electric safari vehicle. The brief was rooted in a simple question: what if the world's fastest electric sports car had to survive outside the city grid?

Design Details: Solar Power, Off-Road Hardware and Apocalyptic Practicality

The Tesla safari concept layers four solar panels across the hood, roof and sides of the roof rack, keeping the electric powertrain charged far from any charging infrastructure. A lift kit elevates the body over chunky all-terrain tires mounted on heavy-duty cast wheels. A bull bar protects the front, rear bumper guards protect the back, and the roof rack carries a spare wheel alongside a dozen jerry cans, repurposed for water rather than gasoline. The overall aesthetic draws directly from the classic Porsche 911 Safari builds that have become a recurring motif in the off-road racing and overlanding world: a sports car body taken to the extreme ends of its mechanical tolerance.

Could a Tesla Safari Ever Be Built?

The Tesla Roadster Safari remains a digital concept. However, the precedent for turning a street-focused electric car into a genuine off-road machine already exists: restomods and coachbuilt electric vehicles are arriving in growing numbers, with builders applying the same off-road transformation logic to vehicles from the original Ford Bronco to the Porsche 911. As electric powertrains become increasingly modular, the engineering case for a lifted, solar-supplemented Tesla safari build grows more plausible. For now, the render stands as one of the most compelling visual arguments for what electric performance could look like outside the circuit and the canyon road.

For those drawn to electric performance at the extreme end of the spectrum, the RAESR Tachyon Speed electric hypercar represents what happens when zero-emission engineering meets no-compromise performance design. The Charge Electric Mustang shows a different kind of transformation: an American classic reborn with an EV powertrain and modern bodywork.
