What Is the Totem GTAmodificata?
The GTAmodificata stands for Gran Turismo Alleggerita Modificata, Italian for "grand tourer, lightened, modified." Totem Automobili based the project on the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm of 1965 to 1969, a race-homologation special that became one of the most celebrated competition cars of its era. Where the original GTAm was a spartan, lightweight racer stripped for the track, the GTAmodificata retains the soul but layers it with 21st-century engineering and craftsmanship. Engine and Performance: 810 HP from a Lightweight V6
Italtecnica Engineering developed a custom 3.2-litre twin-turbocharged V6 specifically for the GTAmodificata. The unit weighs just 165 kg and produces up to 810 horsepower and 538 ft-lb of torque, with the power band extending to an 8,500 rpm redline. Drive goes to the rear wheels through a sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. The chassis is a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque merged to the donor vehicle framework, bringing total kerb weight to 2,414 pounds. That means the GTAmodificata is over 440 pounds lighter than the GT Super it replaced, while making more than 200 hp more.
