TRISO ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE CONCEPT - FIRST LOOK

TRISO ELECTRIC MOTORCYCLE CONCEPT - FIRST LOOK - TheArsenale

The TRISO electric motorcycle concept is a transforming two-wheeler designed for the next generation of urban riders. Created by industrial design students Laurence Lai and Lo Jing-Xuan, TRISO proposes a solution to a real urban challenge: a single motorcycle that adapts its shape and riding position to match three distinct use cases, moving seamlessly between sport, city, and cargo configurations.

What Makes the TRISO Motorcycle Different?

Urban mobility is increasingly defined by versatility. A single rider might commute in dense traffic in the morning, ride longer distances at the weekend, and need cargo-carrying capacity for errands in between. The TRISO concept addresses this by designing mode-switching directly into the motorcycle's structure. The transition between modes happens in seconds, without external tools or significant visual awkwardness, making it a genuinely practical proposal rather than a design exercise.

Three Riding Modes: Eco, Road, and Explore

TRISO operates across three distinct riding modes, each with its own configuration and riding character. Eco mode prioritizes efficiency and reduced energy consumption for low-speed urban navigation. Road mode adopts a sportier posture suited to higher-speed city routes. Explore mode reconfigures the motorcycle to carry cargo, expanding the main storage section using a unique flexible fabric system that retains the bike's aesthetic integrity regardless of load. The switch between all three is quick, making the TRISO concept well-suited to the varied demands of daily urban life.

Performance and Specifications

In performance mode, the TRISO reaches a top speed of 75 km/h, electronically limited for urban safety. Its 10 kW (14 hp) electric motor delivers enough power for a satisfying ride in city and suburban environments. Range in mixed city driving is rated at 130 km per charge, sufficient for a full day of urban use without anxiety. The 100 percent emissions-free powertrain targets riders aged 20 to 30 who want to express their enthusiasm for riding while remaining environmentally conscious. According to Autoevolution, the TRISO's adaptable design addresses a gap that most current electric two-wheelers fail to fill. Yanko Design highlighted the concept's practical cargo flexibility as its most compelling feature.
