Each of Z17Customs builds gets his own name and this particular one got its name while it was being built. Barni not only symbolizes one of the cutest teddy bears (Barney) but also reflects the geography of its owner - Barnaul.

Barni is a mixture of modern looks and classic cafe racer. It all started in winter when Mike and Sergey received a mail where they were asked if they could build a bike based on a picture. The sample built was based on a K100; which is Z17Customs specialty. They were enthusiastic to start and they began talking to their Siberian customer. To find the base bike, they had to look for distributors not only in Russia but also Japan. They found a suitable one near Moscow. Its owner asked them why they wanted to buy it; and when they explained it to him, he refused to sell it. After two days of negotiations, Sasha (owner) decided to sell it with one condition; Z17Customs makes a build for them. They are now building him a Honda Gold Wing.

The inspiration build was not suitable for everyday riding so they had to change the design to make it suitable for everyday use. They decided to use an upside-down fork in the front. The rear disk was replaced with a wider one to add the modern cafe racer flair. They went with a high-performance, stylish tire from Pirello. The old headlights were replaced with enw LED ones. The seat is replaced with a new double one upholstered in Alcantare. The new LED turn signals have been integrated in the clip-on hnadlebars. To add to the modern look, a set of Rizoma mirrors has been installed. Sitting atop the fuel tank is a custom gas cap. 

Removing all of the fairings and old bulky parts resulted in a lightweight, agile K100. Thanks to the upside-down fork, the bike is now much more maneuverable. The lack of the rear fender is compensated by the slick tires that do not lift water and mud, keeping the rider clean in rainy weather. Just one week before the build was finished, Konsantin (the client) visited Moscow with his family to see the bike live. He lives 3400 km from Moscow and thanks to him they managed to create a beautiful machine based on trust and respect.
