AC Cars, the company that took over from the one that provided the chassis for the iconic Cobra sports car, has just launched a significant upgrade. The latest model features carbon fiber bodywork that retains the original's stunning design.
In addition, the car is built on a modern aluminum spaceframe chassis, custom-designed by Icona Design Group and Cecomp Spa. It is powered by a supercharged 5-liter Coyote V8 engine that delivers 654 horsepower - much like the original Cobra's Ford powerplant. The car is available with either a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission and can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of over 170 MPH.
With slightly larger dimensions than its predecessor, the AC Cobra GT is more practical and comfortable, featuring climate control and power windows. The new model is already available for purchase.
