BMW AND TYDE LAUNCH "ICON" - AN INNOVATIVE ELECTRIC WATERCRAFT - TheArsenale

BMW and Tyde have joined forces to unveil a new electric watercraft at the 76th Cannes Film Festival, expanding horizons beyond electric cars and motorcycles. This innovative vessel, dubbed the Icon, measures just over 43 feet and boasts a unique design reminiscent of a modern-day houseboat. The airy, window-enclosed cabin features LED lighting that can create the perfect atmosphere during both daytime and nighttime cruises.

The Icon's hull incorporates hydrofoil technology borrowed from racing yachts, providing a nearly wakeless and silent ride for its passengers. This technology allows the electric watercraft to glide smoothly across the water with minimal disturbance and disruption to the aquatic environment. The eco-friendly and quiet operation sets it apart from traditional watercraft, enhancing the overall experience for those on board.

Powering the Icon are BMW battery packs taken from the i3, which grant the watercraft an impressive range of 62 miles and a top speed of 34 MPH. This collaboration between BMW and Tyde demonstrates the potential of clean energy and electric technology in creating sustainable, efficient, and innovative forms of transportation. The Icon serves as a testament to the progress being made in the realm of electric watercraft, as it sets sail at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival.
