Borromeo DeSilva + Volvo Ocean Race's Super Fluid stand up paddleboard is inspired by the elegance of water mammals and the way they reveal their back when surfacing for air. Weighing in at a mere 11 kg and measuring 3.8 m in length, the carbon fiber monocoque offers a dynamic ride with a superior sense of stability. The technology was developed with Fluid4Engineering, America’s Cup engineering firm, specializing in fluid dynamics.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) was used to develop the SUP with an unwavering focus on performances, handling and stability. The main sections around the standing zone are designed to increase stability, while the refined bow sections are developed for a surface piercing style. A pressure recovery section was crafted starting from mid of the bottom surface to the transom; this feature enhances stability and flow alignment around the single fin.
Borromeo DeSilva wants to conform to the individual needs of its clients.
