In a stunning blend of technology, design, and power, the French company EyeLights has taken the wraps off its ground-breaking electric motorcycle, the Rocket One. This high-tech motorcycle, introduced at EICMA 2023, delivers an immersive riding experience laced with augmented reality. The first offering by Toulouse-based EyeLights, this electrifying motorcycle boasts a retro-futuristic design, emphasized by a large LED headlight reminiscent of a rocket engine at the front. The minimalistic design of the motorcycle adheres to neo-retro themes, with a touch of café racer aesthetics and a hint of old-fashioned charm.
The Rocket One is not merely about aesthetic appeal; it excels in performance. At the heart of this electric roadster lies an electric motor, pulling off an impressive 132 kW (180 hp) and a torque of 1,200 Nm. The state-of-the-art ride can reach 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds, promising blistering speed. The motorcycle is operated by a battery, the details of which are still undisclosed, but it reportedly offers a commendable range of up to 400 kilometers.
The distinguishing feature of the Rocket One is its augmented reality headset. In an innovative initiative, EyeLights has disposed of traditional instrumentation; all riding and navigation information is projected directly onto the user's screen. The visuals encompass critical aspects of the ride, including speed, battery level, remaining range, driving mode, and ambient information such as time and outside temperature. Another innovative feature is its ability to display nearby vehicles and obstacles, providing safety-enhancing aids like blind spot detection, with the help of sensors embedded around the motorcycle. Clubbing performance with technology, EyeLights Rocket One represents the future of electric motorcycles.
