Jekta Aviation has launched a new all-electric seaplane, the PHA-ZE 100, designed to connect oceanside communities with suitable rivers and lakes. It can carry 19 passengers and three crew members, has a range of 94 miles (150 km), and a cruising speed of 135 knots (250 km/h). The seaplane offers zero emissions and can be fully recharged in just 45 minutes, making it an environmentally friendly travel option.
The PHA-ZE 100 is a product of Jekta Aviation's partnership with Italian aircraft design company, MBVision. It will be produced in a high-tech production facility in Switzerland, in collaboration with Swiss Aeropole. The seaplane is versatile and can be configured in several layouts, including 19 economy seats, a 4-seater VIP plane with a living room, and even an ambulance with medical bays.
The project is estimated to cost €280 million ($279m), but Jekta Aviation believes it's worth the investment. The company is actively seeking funding for its new aircraft and plans to start production in 2028-2029. With its cutting-edge technology, the PHA-ZE 100 is expected to revolutionize the seaplane industry and provide a more sustainable travel option.
