The Eli ZERO microcar is set to redefine urban commuting with its ultra-compact design and efficient electric powertrain. Introduced initially at CES 2017 and soon to be available in the US by late 2024, Eli ZERO has been engineered for the modern urbanite. Its most striking feature is its size; the vehicle is 70 percent smaller than a sedan and 50 percent smaller than a Mini, making it perfect for navigating tight city spaces and easy parking. Despite its small footprint, Eli ZERO doesn’t compromise on functionality—it includes transparent glass doors for increased visibility, a trunk spacious enough for two pieces of hand luggage, and is equipped with a dual-AC system, making it suitable for all seasons.
Under the hood, or rather under its sleek, compact body, Eli ZERO packs a robust set of technological advancements. It features a straightforward three-gear setting (park, reverse, drive), power-assisted steering which aids in maneuvering at lower speeds, and an anti-lock braking system to enhance safety. For connectivity and entertainment, it offers Bluetooth-ready speakers and the option to upgrade to a SONY infotainment system with a 10.1-inch HD screen. Safety and convenience are further bolstered by radar parking sensors, rear-view camera systems, and electronic-assisted transparent doors that open with the push of a button.
Availability of the Eli ZERO in the United States is an eagerly awaited event, with reservations already open as the cars are expected to roll out starting in the third quarter of 2024. Priced starting at $11,990, this electric microcar will be available exclusively to reservation holders, with availability varying by state or city depending on the order reservations were received. The introduction of Eli ZERO marks a significant step forward in the evolution of urban electric vehicles, promising a combination of style, efficiency, and modern technology tailored for the dynamic needs of city dwellers.
