The REI concept yacht, a 196-meter vision of streamlined elegance, is the latest project by the TKT-based Viken Group. Combining the grandeur of a superyacht with the personalized amenities of a boutique hotel, the REI caters to a growing market of luxury-seeking explorers. Designed to accommodate 112 guests across ten opulent decks, it offers state-of-the-art features such as rooftop winter gardens, multiple pools, and duplex suites with private gardens and massage areas. Inspired by the 1930s passion for streamlining and enhanced by biomimetic design elements, the REI exudes a futuristic yet harmonious aesthetic. Its flowing, nature-inspired exteriors suggest movement and purpose, while the interior is tailored to cocoon guests in comfort and sophistication.

A collaboration between Viken Group's diverse specialists highlights the design's depth and innovation. The project integrates the expertise of Tillberg Design of Sweden, Italian yacht designers Hot Lab, and naval architects Thalia Marine to seamlessly blend exterior styling, engineering, and luxurious interiors. The concept nods to the iconic forms of industrial design from the past, like Norman Bel Geddes' 1932 streamlined ocean liner, while embracing modern technologies and sustainable possibilities. The REI's flexible design allows for various propulsion systems – including hydrogen, electric, or even sail – reflecting a forward-thinking view of the maritime industry's future.

Beyond its breathtaking design, the REI concept yacht seeks to redefine the cruising experience. With a dedicated crew of 125, it promises unparalleled service and a range of curated programs for its guests. The additional inclusion of a shadow expedition vessel expands access to remote harbors, enabling authentic and intimate adventures. The REI is more than a yacht; it is a floating sanctuary that celebrates luxury, exploration, and the romance of the sea. While still a concept, it represents the cutting edge of marine architecture and design, setting new standards for premium cruising.
