"Hanko" Yamaha XSR 700

$ 37,000.00

Chosen by Yamaha for the Yard Built 2017 to represent France, George Woodman was given an XSR700. However, he didn't have much time with only 3 months to prototype and build his ride.

The idea of this project was to bridge Yamaha's motor department with their premium music department and especially their newest Rev'star line. "Hanko" was borrowed from Yamaha Guitar Department and is the stamp of approval of their luxury custom guitars coming from their Japanese factory.

Many upgrades were made to the bike starting with the performance. Both front and back suspensions are by Öhlins. Handlebars were replaced with S2 Concept ones. The bike uses Diablo Supercorsa SP Tires by Pirelli and the stock exhaust was replaced with a new IXrace Z8 one. A custom Yamaha Rearset by Gilles Tooling was installed along with a Jeap angel eye headlight that features integrated turn signals. The stoplight was integrated in the custom rear seat loop. New KN Filters were installed along an Ultrabat lithium battery. Habndmade LED turnlights were integrated on the sides of the radiator as well.

The other parts were in typical George Woodman style, wooden parts integrated with the bodywork. A custom wood and leather mono seat replaced the original one. Fork covers, side panels and chain guards were built out of Macassar Ebony wood. The tank was replaced with a custom built Corian one, provided by Dupont. The front fender is made out of Corian as well. Even under the bike, its underbelly pan is made out of Corian and multiply wood.

This bike is expected to see its production run around the end of 2018. It is not ready for sale yet but might hit the market on the third quarter of this year.
